Sundials in the Classroom Make great Sundials and learn about the Sun and the telling of time!

| Children and young people are facinated by Sundials. Despite living in the age of the i-phone they are really excited by seeing a shadow telling the time on an object they have made.
This site gives you ideas and information to deliver lessons on Sundials, how they work and how to make them. You can use Sundials to add interest across the curriculum in Maths, science, geography, design, history and probably a few more! This site is aimed mostly at primary age children (keystage 2) and the lower years of seconday school (keystage 3). With a little imagination you can adapt these lessons to suit any academic group. The second Armillary Sphere will suit the skills of many keystage 4 students (14 to 16 years) |
